Student assistant

A part-time employee in an academic or school library (or media center) who is simultaneously enrolled as a student at the institution which supports the library.

Student assistants are usually paid an hourly wage for performing clerical duties. Universities with library schools may also have internships and student workers doing more advanced duties. Student worker positions are often funded by Federal Work Study awards.
