Friends of the Library

Friends of the Library is a name adopted by many non-profit organizations of people who have an interest in supporting a particular library or library system through fund-raising and promotional activities. In some libraries, the Friends operate a small gift shop, assist with library marketing or volunteering, or conduct an annual book sale in support of the library's programs and services.
Libraries may offer special services to friends with a paid membership, thus allowing them to "sell" services to otherwise non-affiliated users.
