Local area network
From LISWiki
(Redirected from LANs)
A local area network (LAN) is a computer network that user interconnects computers in a limited area such as a library, home, school, computer laboratory, or office building using network media such as twisted-pair cabling or WiFi connections.
Many libraries have a LAN for their business side and public access catalog, and a separate LAN set up (either physically or virtually) for public access in places such as public computer labs and WiFi.
