Spine
From LISWiki
The part of a binding which connects the front and back covers, and conceals the bound edge of the pages of a book. It usually bears the title, or an abbreviated title, and often the name of the first-named author. In libraries, a label bearing the call number is usually glued or taped to the lower spine of each circulating item.
