Titular colonicity

From LISWiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Having a colon in a publication title. Works with titular colonicity usually fall into two forms:

  • "title: subtitle," as in "Forgiveness anxiety: Validation of a new mediator of forgiveness"
  • "catchy title: descriptive title," as in "Nature's nobility: A wizarding genealogy"

Sometimes such titles merely restate the obvious as in "18th Century Paris: the French Capital from 1700 to 1800" -or- "Titular Colonicity: Methods of titling a written work by combination of a brief but creative title with a lengthy but descriptive title which is achieved by the gramatic use of a colon"
