Friends of the Library

An non-profit organization of people who have an interest in supporting a particular library or library system, through fund-raising and promotional activities. In some libraries, the Friends operate a small giftshop, assist with library marketing or volunteering, or conduct an annual booksale in support of the library's programs and services.
Libraries may offer special services to friends with a paid membership, thus allowing them to "sell" services to otherwise non-affiliated users.
