Lacuna

Lacuna primarily refers to a gap in something. It can be a gap or missing text in a manuscript, a lexical gap in a language, etc. More broadly, it can mean a gap in a library's collection, usually in the holdings on a specific subject, or by a particular author, which the library wishes to fill.
