Library catalog

An index or list of books, periodicals, maps, and other materials, arranged in a definite order. In most modern libraries, the catalog is online (computerized, see OPAC). The activity of preparing entries for a library catalog is called cataloging and is usually performed by a librarian known as a cataloger.
