Oversize

An item too tall or too wide to be shelved in normal call number sequence in the stacks; a book which is too large to be shelved in normal call number sequence on the shelves of a library. Sometimes called folio.

Oversize materials may be shelved in a separate location, as indicated in the entry in the library's catalog; oversize items are often shelved separately, such as at the end of each call number range or in a different location in the library.
