An Internet search engine/portal. Yahoo's goals are to be the most essential global Internet service for consumers and businesses. Started in January of 1995 Yahoo! was incorporated in march of 1995. With headquarters in Sunnyvale, CA, Yahoo! is an acronym for Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle. Yahoo! offers content in 13, including English, and has has offices in Europe, the Asia Pacific, Latin America, Canada. Traffic on the Yahoo! global network of properties increased to an average of 2.4 billion page views per day as of March 2004. More than 345 million unique users worldwide used the Yahoo! global network of properties (January 2005).

Yahoo! has acquired a total of twenty-two companies since its inception.
