Author's note: Should we define LIS education? I was going to but I realised that 1) it may be controversial and 2) hence, it may be more productive to list some of the tensions that are present in LIS education. I encourage others to describe other tensions I have listed below. Feel free to add your own too - as mine is just a preliminary list to get us started. I'm also hoping this can be a very concrete way in which LIS educators and practitioners can continue to talk asynchronously about LIS education and in the process reach across the gap that may exist among some of us. Also, hope this isn't opinionated.
